LAO DA / FINANCE
Your boundaries matter

Private before social.

Development privacy notice · 4 November 2026

Lao Da Finance is a financial diary and social product in development. This notice describes the current website and mobile test features. Feature availability varies by build.

This website

The examples use sample data. The Moments demo runs in your browser and resets when you reload. It does not connect to a financial account, create a real post, collect a waitlist email or accept payments. We have not added advertising trackers or analytics scripts. Fonts and artwork are served with the site.

Our hosting service processes the technical information needed to serve and protect the website, which can include IP addresses, request details and operational logs. If a preview is restricted, the hosting service may also require sign-in to control access.

Money stays in your own accounts

Lao Da does not hold customer funds, operate a customer deposit balance, initiate withdrawals or store crypto private keys in its current implementation. Never send us a bank password, PIN, one-time code or wallet recovery phrase.

Records on your phone

Imported financial history and captured confirmations are stored on the device. Current automatic capture is an experimental Android notification feature for supported MoMo and GCB GHS messages in Google Messages or Samsung Messages. Android notification access is broad; the app filters for supported senders and financial confirmations. It can miss messages and does not read old SMS history or directly connect to a bank.

Signing out does not hide the local financial ledger. App-specific encryption and biometric locking are not implemented. Protect access to your phone and avoid using test builds on shared devices.

Optional accounts and backups

Enabled account builds use Supabase for sign-in and explicitly chosen online features. Setup backup is separate from transaction backup. Transaction backups are manual snapshots with limited financial fields, not continuous device sync or end-to-end encrypted storage. The current transaction backup format supports MoMo and GCB GHS records; Zenith records cannot be included. Read each confirmation before uploading or restoring.

What you choose to share

Financial records never become social posts automatically. Online Moments use an explicit preview and confirmation. Prices start hidden; audiences are Only me or Community. Community means other signed-in users, who may copy what you share. Display names and purchase stories are self-reported, not identity or transaction verification.

Removing or making a post private cannot recall copies others already saved. Plans save a limited copy of an idea on the phone; their targets and progress are user-entered, are not uploaded by this feature and are outside transaction backups.

Your choices and help

You can pause capture or revoke Android notification access. You can discard local story drafts, remove private plans, and use the available owner controls for online posts and backups. Uninstalling can remove local records; confirm what is backed up before taking that step.

During the private testing stage, contact the person who supplied your invitation or build for account-data requests and assistance. A dedicated support contact will be added once it is verified. See testing support for safe reporting steps.

As the product changes

This development notice will be updated as features, data handling and support processes change. Wider release requires a complete review of the actual product and its operating arrangements.
